The word "fuck", alongside certain other profanity and vulgarity, was censored with an air horn during most of the first episodes of The First Podcast. This was done for three reasons:
- The hosts believed it would help them become ad-friendly
- The consistency made it somewhat comedic
- Lars's mom occasionally listens to the show, and he felt bad
Censorship is now usually only done to cover private or embarrassing details in the final cuts of episodes.
