The Fourth Wall Will Not Protect You is a guestless episode of The First Podcast which represented a vast departure from the usual episode style.
It has since been removed due to the great purge, but its unique qualities hinted at a now aborted arc for the show which would break the fourth wall.
Unique qualities
- This was, at the time, the only episode without any intro or outro music.
- This is the only episode that is presented completely in medias res. Some other episodes begin at a seemingly arbitrary conversation point, but this episode begins in the middle of a sentence.
- While a proper spoken introduction of the episode was occasionally foregone or delayed significantly in earlier episodes, this is the first of the newer episodes to have absolutely no welcoming of the audience.
- This is the only episode presented as “found footage”.
